Excellent Pair of Scottish Belt Pistols by MacLeod. A nearly perfectly matched pair with the exception of one pistol having a slightly longer tail on the lock. Each has 7 3/4 inch slightly swamped barrels with Birmingham proofs that date this pair to around 1815-1830. They are about .60 caliber. Both locks are well marked and engraved. Original flint. Ram's head butts with vent picks that screw in and out.

Metal surfaces show wear from actual use with portions of floral etchings visible here and there. One of the pistols has an old repair visible on the left side of the grip and some minor restoration to the belt hook fastening area.
